The Antiquities of Bahariya Oasis
Our FWD with driver takes you around Bawiti and al- Qasr to visit the
antiquities sites; if you have our own vehicle you can hire our 'silent guide'
to show you the way, since there are no signs.
English speaking guide on request only: LE 100, - (Guiding fee)
Peter Wirth will usually give you a short historical briefing before the tour.
After visiting the sites you will be able to visit the local market in Bawiti
to choose some of the famous local dates and olive oil..
Entrance fees are extra and are currently: LE45 per person One ticket
permits entrance to all the historic sites.
- The Golden Mummies in the Graeco-Roman cemetery.
- The two painted 26th-Dynasty tombs (Qasr Selim).
- The 26th-Dynasty temple ('Ayn al-Muftalla).
- The Temple of Alexander the Great (Tibaneya).
