LOCAL TOUR: HALF-DAY
Ghorabi Sand Dunes

From the International Hot Spring Hotel our local driver/guide will take you by FWD towards Ghorabi, a huge sand dune strip at the northern end of the Bahariya Depression. First you will drive across Bir Matar to the small hamlet of Bir Ghaba. There you will embark on the old caravan route to Cairo, which was used until the asphalt road was built in 1980. The track leaves the Bahariya Depression through a natural opening near the tomb of Sheikh Kaddafi.

Soon the triple dune appears. Since it very difficult to drive over the dune you will drive along side, but you are free to climb it on foot.

Recommendation: Photographers will enjoy this better in the afternoon
