Kebir Expedition
SAFARI: 9 NIGHTS / 10 DAYS
- DAY 1: From Bahariya Oasis travel directly by asphalt road via
Farafra Oasis to Dakhla. Start climbing huge sand dunes. Camp 1.
- DAY 2: Continue to Regenfeld and Abu Ballas. Camp 2.
- DAY 3: Continue to Mud-Pans (Yardangs) and Wadi Mashi to the NE side
of the Gilf Kebir Plateau. Camp 3.
- DAY 4: Climb the plateau via Saviem Point, reaching the Aqaba Pass.
Camp 4.
- DAY 5: Descend the Aqaba Pass to the SE side of the Gilf Kebir as
far as Wadi Sura (the Swimmers' Cave) and Foggini-Mistikawi Cave. Camp 5.
- DAY 6: Continue around the Abu Ras Plateau to the northern part of
Wadi Abel-Mallik. Camp 6.
- DAY 7: Cross Wadi Gubba to reach the Silica area in the Great Sand
Sea. Camp 7
- DAY 8: Cross the Longitudes Dunes of the Great Sand Sea. Camp 8.
- DAY 9: Continue through the Great Sand Sea tol Ammonite Scarp. Camp
9.
- DAY 10: Reach Abu Minqar and continue to Bahariya Oasis. Overnight
at Hot Spring Hotel***.
