White Desert and Wadi Hitan

3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS

White Desert and Valley of the Whales

Day 1
  • Start in Cairo not later than 08.00h.
  • Transfer by our private minibus/public bus to Bahariya Oasis (350kms).
  • Lunch at Hot Spring Hotel (included).
  • Departure by FWD to White Desert (150kms).
  • Tour White Desert (off-road) until sunset.
  • Camp in White Desert.
  • Equipment provided: tent, sleeping bag, mattress and camel blanket.
  • Dinner: Chicken BBQ.

Day 2
  • Picnic breakfast in the desert.
  • On the way back to Bahariya Oasis visit the Crystal Mountain and the Black Desert (off-road). Return to Bahariya at about noon.
  • Optional lunch at Hot Spring Hotel.
  • Afternoon free for relaxing and walking.
  • Overnight at Hot Spring Hotel***. (see below).

Day 3
  • After breakfast, leave in FWD on asphalt road towards Cairo for 200kms.
  • Turn off-road and descend to Qattrani Plateau in the direction of Gabel Gohanam (Hell Mountain). Cross the Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales) on marked tracks only, as this is a Protected Area and a World Heritage Site.
  • Visit the fossil bones of the proto-whales on foot.
  • Return through Wadi Rayyan and around Lake Qaroun to the Pyramids circuit.
  • End of service.

Note: Please. take a taxi from the drop-off point to your hotel, It is recommend that you book a hotel in Giza

Recommendation: It s recommended that you spend the night at the International Hot Spring Hotel***, but it is of course possible to book the safari program only. In this case the hotel will be the meeting point before you continue to Wadi Hitan. You may also consider another night of camping on the second day rather than returning directly to Cairo.
